Oscar Schwartau is set to return for Norwich City's Championship trip to Derby County on Tuesday, but Kenny McLean and Pelle Mattsson face late fitness tests. Manager Philippe Clement confirmed the midfielder's availability after he missed Saturday's 3-2 win over Watford with a nerve problem.

"Oscar will be back," Clement said. "He’s training now and will be back in the selection." The 24-year-old has trained for three days and provides a timely boost for a side sitting 15th in the table with 15 points from 13 games. The Canaries are on a two-game winning run after that victory and a 3-1 success at Charlton.

Late decisions for duo

Clement was less certain about McLean and Mattsson, who both missed the Watford match. McLean suffered a setback with an ankle issue that required a specialist visit, while Mattsson has been out with a hamstring injury picked up against Charlton. "Kenny and Pelle we still need to assess tomorrow if it’s possible or not," the manager added, indicating a final call will be made closer to kick-off.

Their potential absence is a concern given the importance of the fixture. Norwich, who have scored 23 goals but conceded 24 this season, face a Derby side rooted in 23rd place with just one league win. The Rams are reeling from a 4-1 defeat at Millwall and have a lengthy injury list of their own.

Clement's side will look to build on their recent momentum, with Paris Maghoma and Mathias Kvistgaarden in fine form. Maghoma scored in the last two wins, while Kvistgaarden provided two assists against Watford. The full squad situation, including the sidelined A. Ahmed and P. A. Diallo, will be key as Norwich aim to close a 13-point gap to the top. The match at Pride Park kicks off on Tuesday evening.
