Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey is set to join Rangers on a loan deal from Atalanta. The 28-year-old defender is close to finalising the move, which includes an option to buy.
What happened?
Godfrey is poised to become the latest member of Norwich City's 2018-19 Championship-winning side to join the Scottish giants.
He will follow in the footsteps of ex-Canaries colleagues Max Aarons and Todd Cantwell.
Why it matters for Norwich City
The move will be Godfrey's fourth loan spell away since joining Atalanta from Everton in 2024.
He has also spent time at Ipswich, Sheffield United, and Danish side Brondby, working under Steve Cooper.
What comes next?
Godfrey is now set for a return to Britain as part of Derek McInnes' revamp of the Gers after Danny Rohl's exit to RB Salzburg.
The expectation is that the England international will become the third summer arrival in Glasgow after Lawrence Shankland and Ross McCrorie already signed up.

Godfrey made 78 appearances for the Canaries before earning a £25million move to Everton in 2020. He will be hoping to continue a much-needed revival to his own career after a positive stint in Denmark following two bruising loan spells at Ipswich and Sheffield United in the Championship.
