Former Norwich City striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel has joined Dutch amateur club VV Woudenberg. The ex-Netherlands international striker announced his professional retirement from FC Twente at the end of last season.

Van Wolfswinkel was a big-money Premier League signing for Norwich City, scoring on his top flight debut against Everton in 2013. He moved to Vitesse Arnhem after two goals in 28 senior appearances for the Canaries.

The 37-year-old striker had a prolific goalscoring spell at Sporting Lisbon before joining Norwich City. He also had a successful stint at Basel, overcoming a brain aneurysm to make a successful playing return.

Van Wolfswinkel has been a World Cup pundit over the summer and is planning to help with coaching at Woudenberg.
