Norwich City's Jaden Warner Seeks New Challenge in Non-League Football
Norwich City academy product Jaden Warner has signed for National League South side Farnborough, marking the latest step in his bid to reignite his football career. The 23-year-old defender has completed the switch to the Saunders Transport Community Stadium following his release from Newport County.
Why Jaden Warner Joined Farnborough
Warner departed Carrow Road for South Wales in January 2025, but fitness issues limited him to just eight appearances for the Exiles across 18 months. Now, he has dropped two divisions in an attempt to revive his career, linking up with former City team-mates Mason Bloomfield and Michael Reindorf.
What Comes Next for Jaden Warner?
With experience in the EFL, Farnborough boss Spencer Day is delighted to have Warner on board. "A real pedigree signing and thrilled to get him," Day told club channels. "Another that needs some luck after a difficult season but really should be playing in the EFL. We are excited to have him here and push both of us forward."
Warner joined the Canaries aged 11 in 2014, rising through the youth system to the first team. He made his senior debut in a 2-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Fulham in September 2023 before making his Championship bow two months later in a 3-1 loss to Blackburn Rovers.
Norwich City's Current Form
As of the 2025-26 season, Norwich City currently sits 9th in the Championship, with 65 points from 46 games, a recent form of LDWWL. The team has scored 63 goals and conceded 56, with a goal difference of +7. They are 30 points behind leaders Coventry and have a significant gap to close in the title race.
Norwich City's Injury Update
Currently sidelined for the Canaries is Mirko Topić, who is unavailable due to injury. The team will be looking to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible to strengthen their squad.
Jaden Warner's Farnborough Debut
Warner made his Farnborough debut in Saturday's league opener against Maidstone United, but was withdrawn after 42 minutes as a precaution, according to boss Day. A reunion with former City team-mate Finley Welch awaits on August 22, after the midfielder recently joined Maidenhead United.
