Norwich City have completed the transfer of Croatian defender Jakov Medic from Ajax, adding a new centre-half to their squad. Medic joins the club on a three-year deal, which will keep him at Carrow Road until 2028. The 26-year-old defender had a spell with Ajax, but failed to make a lasting impact, playing just nine games across all competitions. Medic was loaned out to Bundesliga side VfL Bochum for the 2024/25 season, where he suffered relegation from the Bundesliga. According to Ajax technical director Alex Kroes, the move was beneficial for both parties, as there was no real prospect for Medic at Ajax. Medic has expressed his delight at joining Norwich City, stating that he had always wanted to play in England. The transfer fee for the move was not disclosed, but Dutch media report that Ajax received €2.5 million for the defender. Medic's debut for Ajax was impressive, as he scored the club's goal of the season against Heracles Almelo. The Croatian defender is looking forward to a new challenge in the Championship with Norwich City. Medic's move to Norwich City is seen as a positive step for his career, as he looks to regain his form and become a regular starter. The club's fans will be hoping Medic can make an immediate impact and help the team push for promotion. Medic is eager to prove himself and make a name for himself in the Championship.
