Norwich City's New Season Begins

Philippe Clement’s Norwich City kick off their 2026/27 domestic campaign with a Carabao Cup first-round clash against MK Dons at Carrow Road. This match marks the beginning of what promises to be an exciting new season for the Canaries, who are eager to make a strong start.

Following Tuesday night's pre-season draw with Cambridge United, Norwich City will look to build momentum and secure their place in Monday evening’s second-round draw. Clement and his side have been preparing diligently throughout the summer, and they are ready to take on any challenge that comes their way.

MK Dons' Promotional Journey

Paul Warne's MK Dons make a two-and-a-quarter-hour trip to Norfolk with high spirits after securing promotion back to Sky Bet League One. The Diss-born manager has quickly established himself as a legend at the club, guiding them back to the third tier in his first full season and achieving the fifth promotion of his managerial career.

MK Dons concluded their pre-season schedule with a 2-0 victory over Cheltenham Town on Saturday, thanks to second-half goals from Aaron Collins and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing. The squad has undergone significant changes for the new campaign, with six new signings joining the club following promotion. Most recently, MK Dons confirmed the loan signing of winger Samuel Silvera from Middlesbrough.

Historical Rivalry and Connections

Despite never playing in a division above Norwich City, MK Dons boast an impressive 21-year unbeaten record against the Canaries. The last victory for Norwich City came in 2005 when Leon McKenzie's dramatic 120th-minute winner secured progression to the second round of the Carling Cup.

The sides most recently met at Carrow Road in this competition in 2011, with MK Dons stunning Paul Lambert’s Premier League outfit with a 4-0 victory. Two current Canaries players could come up against their former club on Saturday: Harry Darling and Paris Maghoma. Both spent time at Stadium MK before moving to other clubs.

Ticket Information

Tickets for the fixture are available now, with prices ranging from £12 for adults to just £1 for children aged 2-17. The club is delighted to announce that £2 from every adult ticket sold will be donated to their charity partner, the Community Sports Foundation.
