Norwich City begin their Championship campaign by welcoming West Brom to Carrow Road this afternoon. The City boss, Philippe Clement, is keen to keep everyone's feet on the floor, despite many tipping them to push for promotion to the Premier League. Clement delivered a positive fitness bulletin at his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, confirming that Mathias Kvistgaarden would be fit enough to feature in their season opener. Kellen Fisher has trained all week and could return to the matchday squad, while Papa Amadou Diallo and Ante Crnac emerged successfully through last Sunday's internal game. The question now is whether the attacking pair are ready to be reintegrated into the squad, but City will take no risks at this stage. Gabe Forsyth is also scheduled for minutes in this weekend's training game along with new addition Darlin Yongwa, who continues to build up his fitness after joining the club on a free transfer from Lorient earlier this month. Striker Jovon Makama continues to train individually on his way back from a contact injury. City remain without Ali Ahmed, who is expected to miss the bulk of the Championship campaign after sustaining an ACL injury against Osasuna. Lucien Mahovo remains sidelined with an ankle issue. Midfielder Mirko Topic is continuing to build up his fitness after an ACL injury. West Brom are under the permanent management of club legend James Morrison after he successfully guided them to safety with an impressive run at the end of last season. Attacking duo Tammer Bany and Mikey Johnston are expected to miss the trip to Norfolk, while key midfielder Alex Mowatt completed a move to Championship rivals Derby County. Promising youngster Harry Whitwell (calf) has trained after coming off as a precaution at Rotherham last week. City have won each of their past two games against West Bromwich Albion in all competitions, and three of their previous four overall (L1); they could win three in a row against the Baggies for the first time since November 1995. The team currently sits 9th in the Championship, with 58 points from 42 games last season, and a goal difference of +5. They are 28 points behind leaders Coventry in the title race, and have scored 55 goals this season, conceding 50.
